Yonaka, Las Vegas

The atmosphere at Yonaka was modern, clean and full of people. Our server was really nice and welcoming too.

Some dishes I ate:

Pokuyaki (korubata pork belly, granny smith apple, garlic chips, dehydrated fennel, fennel purée, lemon shiso vinaigrette) – $15

I thought this was pretty good. I loved eating the pork belly with the granny smith apple. It complimented the meat so well! But I thought that the pork belly could have been more tender and juicy. The presentation was really nice too.

Toro/Fatty Tuna (mentaiko aioli, herb sauce) – $5 each

This dish wasn’t as good as I though it’d be. The tuna wasn’t that fresh, and for some reason, it was super oily and didn’t taste good. The sauce didn’t go well with the fish. It tasted a bit like they put beer in it? I have no idea, but I’ve definitely had better tuna.

Nana Iro

This yellowtail dish was so good. I really loved the grapefruit, the avocado, and the sauce they put. It all tasted great together.  The presentation was pretty too.

Overall, most of the food was good but not outstanding. They could improve their food a lot more. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was really good, but not incredible.
